We try to visit Ottawa at least once a year, especially since Ron’s daughter lives there. Opened in 2017 by the talented Chef Jason Saiwison, Stofa Restaurant has quickly earned its place as one of Ottawa’s top dining spots. Known for its eclectic menu, Stofa offers a creative blend of familiar comfort foods with a twist. The seasonal menu changes regularly (every couple of weeks!), but you can always expect imaginative, high-quality dishes that make each visit feel fresh and exciting.

The atmosphere is intimate and minimalist, with just 50 seats, creating a cozy vibe that’s perfect for a special evening. The wine list, while compact, is thoughtfully curated, and the handcrafted cocktails are a delightful bonus. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or a cocktail connoisseur, you’ll find something that complements your meal perfectly.

A Memorable Dining Experience at Stofa: The 5-Course Tasting Menu

For our celebration, we opted for the 5-course chef’s tasting menu with wine pairings—and wow, what a journey it was! Although I didn’t take detailed notes of every dish, I’ve got plenty of photos that showcase the beauty and craftsmanship of each course. (Trust me, the visual evidence is proof enough of the culinary artistry on display!)

The menu at Stofa is always evolving, so while these specific dishes may no longer be available, the experience remains a must-try. The combination of flavors, textures, and presentation made each bite a delight. And while it’s a bit of a splurge, every penny was worth it for the unforgettable dining experience.
