Michael’s Café in Palm Springs: A Classic 50s Diner

Posted on January 24, 2025March 8, 2025 by Caroline

Michael’s Café in Palm Springs: A Classic 50s Diner Serving Delicious Breakfast & Lunch

Tucked away in the Cathedral City area of Palm Springs, Michael’s Café is a nostalgic gem that’s been serving up hearty breakfast and lunch dishes for over 30 years. With a fun retro vibe featuring Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, this diner is as much about the experience as it is about the food. If you’re in the area, it’s a must-visit!

A Nostalgic Dining Experience

From the moment you step inside, you’re transported back in time to the 50s. The atmosphere is kitschy and charming, with iconic record-themed menus and a horseshoe-shaped formica bar that’s the heart of the action. The diner’s spotless environment and attentive service make it a standout. The staff is friendly, always topping off your coffee with a smile, and their attention to detail is impressive—no crumbs are tolerated here!

Breakfast & Lunch at Michael’s Café

Michael’s Café offers a simple yet satisfying menu focused on classic American breakfast and lunch options. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast before a Palm Springs adventure or a delicious lunch, this place has you covered. Open daily from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, it’s perfect for a casual meal before heading out.

We stopped by for breakfast on our way to the airport and were definitely impressed. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash, which came with two perfectly poached eggs, a biscuit, and a refreshing fruit salad on the side. Ron went for the classic 2+2+2: two eggs, two sausage patties, two slices of sourdough toast, and crispy hash browns. Both meals were delicious and filling—definitely worth a visit if you’re craving comfort food!
