On the Hunt for the Best Phoenix Happy Hour!
If you’re a fan of golf and good food, you know that the best part of a round is always the happy hour afterward. Ron and I share this passion, and while he spends more time in Phoenix than I do, whenever I’m in town, we make it a ritual to find the best happy hour spots. Our latest discovery? The Parlor – a trendy spot serving up delicious pizzas and drinks.
Now, full disclosure – the happy hour menu here isn’t exactly bursting with options. The $2 off draft beers, wines, and pizzas is a decent deal, but it’s pretty limited in terms of variety. However, we found that what it lacks in choice, it more than makes up for in flavour.
We kicked things off with a couple of pints of Church Music IPA, a refreshing brew that paired perfectly with sitting and chatting at the bar. After that, we each opted for a glass of the Cesaro Aglianico wine, a delightful Italian red that had a nice, bold profile.
Pizza, Pizza, Pizza!
But let’s be honest – the real highlight at The Parlor is the pizza. We each went for a small one, with Ron choosing the Calabrian pizza, topped with calabrese salumi, fresh burrata, and watercress. The pizza had a spicy kick from the salumi, but the creaminess of the burrata brought it all together beautifully. I went with the Autunalle pizza, which was a more adventurous choice for me – prosciutto, sweet potato ricotta, caramelized onion, fig jam, arugula, and salted almonds. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the sweet potato ricotta and fig jam balanced the savory toppings. It was a unique combination that worked far better than I expected!
Both pizzas had a thin, soft crust with tons of flavour, which really let the fresh ingredients shine. While I wouldn’t say this is the best happy hour in Phoenix, if you’re in the area, The Parlor is definitely worth a visit for their fantastic pizzas and relaxed, welcoming vibe.
So, if you’re looking to grab a bite after a day of golf or just want to unwind with a good beer and a great pizza, Happy Hour at The Parlor should definitely be on your radar!
