We arrived in Zadar ready to relax. With a comfy hotel in Old Town and cocktails on the Riva, we soaked up the city’s coastal charm. Highlights included the Sea Organ’s wave-made melodies and a sunset Alfred Hitchcock called the best in the world. A soft landing after a busy travel day.

Discovering St. Martin’s Church Hidden in the Palace Walls

Tucked inside the ancient walls of Diocletian’s Palace, St. Martin’s Church is a tiny 6th-century chapel hidden above Split’s Golden Gate. Just 1.54 meters wide, it holds a rare 11th-century sacral arch and centuries of quiet devotion; an overlooked spiritual gem in the heart of the city’s Roman ruins.
