From the ferry into Korčula to charcuterie at LOLE wine bar, our first day on the island was filled with history, incredible food, and unforgettable Adriatic views. Wandering the walled Old Town at sunset, sipping local wines, and settling into our cozy apartment left us eager for more island adventures.
Our last Brač day epitomized island time, from Zlatni Rat’s turquoise embrace to Petris’ genius dinner tip, steak sizzling on a 600°C stone. As the Adriatic turned gold, we toasted with Hvar wine, willing time to slow just a little longer. Some places don’t say goodbye, they whisper ‘come back soon.’
Brač delivered double wonders: Vidova Gora’s postcard-perfect panoramas and Blaca Monastery’s mind-blowing backstory. Who knew 16th-century monks were such overachievers? Between mountain vistas and their hand-carved cliffside sanctuary with wine cellar and telescope, we got the ultimate mix of natural beauty and human brilliance.
After a sweltering hotel stay and a car that barely made it up the hills, we discovered the hidden charms of Ložišća and the relaxed beauty of Bol. Between bird incidents and unexpected wine tastings, island life slowly worked its magic. Bol just might be one of our new favourites.
